In-Character Information

Name: Alcin the Altaria
Game/Series: Pokemon (B2W2)
Teacher/Student/Other: Student
Canon Point: P...ost game?
Age: 18
Grade Level/Class Taught/Job: Freshman
Dorm or Living Arrangement: Dorm

Personality:
As a Pokemon who likes to float around in the sky with the clouds, Alcin's personality takes after something close to how a cloud is on a sunny day: laid back and relaxed, drifting by without getting affected by others easily. It takes a lot for him to get riled up. It doesn't mean he's a saint, though. He has a tendency to pile up his emotions before it explodes into a gigantic mess, which can probably cause a friendship to be ruined.

Growing up as a tamed Pokemon, one can say he can be a bit naive about certain things, especially of the hardships in being a wild Pokemon. He is aware of this ignorance, and as a Pokemon recently released from a trainer, he is currently trying to take in as much experience he otherwise could not get. One of the biggest reason of attending Smash Academy, if not for Voile, is to take the opportunity of having the freedom to choose his life and learn new things. Other than that, he's a pretty cheerful but somewhat spaced-out guy. One obvious trait he has is when he is extremely happy, he starts humming under his breath.

Wild Altarias tend to be more reserved and shy from how they choose to live away from human settlements. Traveling with a trainer since he was a little Swablu, Alcin is a lot more social and open than an average Altaria, where he wouldn't hesitate to greet even strangers passing by with a cheerful smile. In fact, he also has a bit of a competitive side when it comes to battles since he has been raised as an battle-oriented Pokemon for so long.

When emotions actually get the better of him, Alcin tends to end up putting the emotions into actions rather than words. He does not like this part of himself, as well as how he cannot communicate effectively when it's crucial to do so. While it's easier to use body language to communicate effectively for him, he looks up to those who can communicate just as well by only speaking, and he tries to take this into a habit for himself as well as means to become someone he respects. As such, when he gets riled up he does his best to keep control over himself, resulting in him glaring at the opponent and letting his voice dip down into a growl to keep his anger from exploding.

He's not much of a talkative one when it comes to conversing with others, especially human beings. The only human being he was ever constantly with was his ex-trainer (who is also Voile's ex-trainer as well). And from how he felt rather betrayed by his trainer, he is rather wary to get close to another human being. In an environment such as Smash Academy, Alcin understand perfectly that he would have to converse with human beings while he's attending the school, but he would act more stern towards human beings than he would towards other Pokemon there. He would still be sociable towards anyone who speaks to him, but one will be able to tell he puts up some sort of barrier when interacting with humans.

On the other hand, when interacting with other Pokemon, he becomes more open in the sense that he will smile more, talk more, and be more casual, even more so with close friends to the point where he will invite you to spend time with him outdoors, whether it be flying in the skies or just hanging around. While he cares for his friends deeply, he is also the kind who does not jump to protect or defend friends easily. It takes a while for him to take any sort of action, but when he does take action it means it's something very serious for him. This is due to more of having a fear of letting the other person down when the one time they need him the most, he's not there. He feels that he has let Voile down during the incident with their trainer in the past, and is weary of taking action.

Backstory:
Alcin's birthplace is somewhere in Unova. He doesn't know the exact location, nor did he ever wonder about it in the past. There didn't seem to be any point in questioning about it, at least to Alcin, for the earliest memory he has as a Swablu was looking up at a young boy who was his to-be trainer at the time, who had been visiting the region during that time. They quickly became friends, and when the boy had to return home to Lilycove City in Hoenn region, Alcin followed without a second thought. This was how Alcin gained a trainer, and the boy gaining his first Pokemon.

Time was the biggest factor for Alcin and the trainer to strengthen their bonds as they traveled, mainly in the Hoenn region as they trained hard to enter the league, as any aspiring trainers would strive for. The party increased, having a Skitty, Shroomish, and Numel join the team as they went, along with a Ralts who later would be called Voile. During the time, Alcin did his best to make his best friend and trainer proud by fighting against various Pokemon, both wild or with another trainer. With experience, he quickly grew strong enough and evolved into an Altaria.

As more time spent with the team past, Alcin grew to start liking Voile. While he scrunched his nose at how she was timid with the fighting at first, he quickly grew to like her from how she was so soft and kind to everyone. It started off as a small admiration at first, which as time progressed, grew to something bigger. He never spoke of this to others, especially Voile, since by then he had already understood on a broad scale of how her powers worked. He spent more time watching after her and as he did, he grew to pick up clues of how she thought and felt, mainly towards the trainer. It hurt him watching her desperately trying to win the trainer's heart as Voile entered various contests to win ribbons, as well as gaze in awe every time she was on the stage, looking so elegant, graceful and beautiful. He could tell the trainer was happy for her as well every time she won ribbons and Alcin himself was happy to see that as well.

When Voile mentioned about humanization to the trainer that one night, though, Alcin felt like his world was shaken up as he listened in. He understood well enough where Voile was coming from, but he had one thought:

She was already beautiful enough as she was. She didn't have to go out of her way to go through a drastic change like that. Her trying so desperately was painful to watch. He did his best to voice his opinions as well as he approached her after their talk, but it felt like trying to grasp thin air as his attempt of dissuading her from leaving failed. He watched her leave with worried eyes; while he wanted her to stay, he also wanted to respect her choice as well.

It was lonely without having Voile around. There were so many things that reminded him of her surrounding him that he spent all of his free time thinking about her. It was just hard to take his mind off of her, and it was clear to his teammates as well as his trainer. One of his teammate was probably annoyed of it, for when Voile had briefly returned home they didn't mention any of the sort to him while he was away drifting around in the clouds until after she had left again. Not only that, they had notified him that Voile had had been released by the trainer and had left the team. A mix of so many emotions went through his mind as he confronted his trainer about this. It had been so long since he had gotten a proper talk with her, he wanted to actually tell her his entire thoughts, his feelings to her since she never did touch on it before she had left, and now there was no other way to contact her with her gone from the team. He was angry, sad, confused... Emotions got the better of him as the confrontation turned into an argument, resulting in Alcin taking drastic measures to voluntarily leave the team to go see Voile; he had actually regretted of letting her leave and that regret had channeled through the argument.

Alcin's departure from what was his home for the longest years was rocky at the least. Without having a concrete plan, he left for Smash Academy in hopes of being able to catch up to Voile.

Anything Else?:
- Bulbapedia page
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Mild
Moveset: Sing, Perish Song, Dragon Pulse, Sky Attack
Special abilities:
- Altarias are known for their soprano humming voice. Alcin is no exception to that, and when he's in good moods, mostly whenever he's alone, he starts to hum melodies. An example? He's rather bashful about his singing voice, so while he can be somewhat okay with a small humming under his breath, he would not do a performance unless it's with the closest friends.
- Altarias are possible to learn fire moves. While it is not in his moveset and will never use it during a fight, but when ambushed and as a means of using Struggle, he will blow out fire from his mouth. If a fire move is learned later, it will still be last-resort and will prefer not to use them if given the choice.

- He loves being outdoors. He also loves sunny days. He's more prone to getting caught humming under his breath during sunny days, and will be more sociable. On the flip side, he does not like dark gloomy days or even worse, stormy days where he can't fly around in the sky. On days like these, he can be seen inside being grumpy or even depressed as heck.

- He also loves fluffy things. Clouds are his absolute favorites, so if there's anything that resembles that he automatically likes it. Fluffy clothes will be his wardrobe if he ever gets the hang of Being Human, and fluffy objects will fill up his room.

- He has feelings towards Voile. He will never voice them, however, and instead will look after her as a good friend.

- Possible gijinka design if he ever becomes human.

- There are some traits he has kept from ever since he was a Swablu:
- He is a clean freak. If he starts noticing things that are dirty, he gets very distracted to the point where he needs to go and clean things up so he can relax.
- Every free time he spends that's not spent being outside is cleaning things. Once cleaning is done, he goes to take a nice hot bath.
- When he's being childish he tries to sit on other people's heads while in his Pokemon form.

Text;
So this is the Smash Academy I have heard about... Ah, right, I should introduce myself now that I have a means of communicating through human language! My name is Alcin, I am an Altaria that arrived from Hoenn region. Some of you may know a Gardevoir named Voile. I am a long-time... teammate? I am unsure how to call our relationship since things have changed quite a bit. I have never expected this place to be so vast! Hoenn region is quite large, but this is in a whole different scale. Some parts feel nostalgic, although I am not sure the reason why.

Ah, Voile! If you see this message, I must apologize for coming to this place on such a short notice! Or perhaps you may have ran into me even before seeing this message! I had rushed out of home without much thought, so I had no means to communicate with you until I arrived here. Good news! I will be attending this school place as well! I am surprised that this place accepts Pokemon to be students! I have only heard that school are for humans, are they not? A strange place, but I myself am surprised at how much I am looking forward for all these new experiences!

...I hope you are doing alright, Voile. I have not gotten the chance to do a proper talk. Perhaps by the time you read this, I have gotten to have a nice chat with you. But I will leave this message here regardless.

I missed you.

Test post

Alcin would agree any day that the weather played the biggest part in setting his mood for the day. When it's sunny, he would stay pretty cheerful regardless of what goes on during the day. He'd be completely okay if he's brushed off by some people and wouldn't dwell on anything trivial. Unless it is something extreme, nothing would bring his spirit down.

But today wasn't those kind of days. He looked up at the dark sky from the window in the common room, giving a heavy sigh as he idly dusted off the windowsill. Not only it was pouring rain, it was thundering. The second worst kind of weather. It made him gloomy and irritated at almost everything around him, including the small amount of dust he found collecting at the corner of the window, where he angrily cleaned it off with a duster. Not being able to see the sun shine in the sky must be one of the worst things one can experience, he angrily noted to himself as he started to clean the rest of the room.

In the end, he cleaned the entire room out. He let a sigh out as he flopped down into the couch, gazing up at the ceiling while he listened to the rain tap on the window with an occasional roll of thunder in the distance. Perhaps he should find something to do to keep his mind occupied...

At that moment, he heard a familiar voice from the entrance of the room. Alcin lifted his head up to see Voile standing there with a surprised look on her face.

Ah, no, there is a sunshine in here too. A smile was brought to his face as he got up from the couch, making his way to where the Gardevoir was.

On second thought, if I picked up another hobby, I wouldn't be able to spend as much time with her.
